One of only a handful of Maasai currently living in Australia from his now hometown of Sydney, Mokotyo Mandilei Parkepu better known as Sani was born in a small village in Tanzania to a large loving family and strong culture, which he returns to on the regular. Sani knew from an early age that he would travel out of Africa, he didn’t know how or where but he had the calling.. as you do, “When you know you know, you just feel it in your heart.” We became great friends in the summer of 2017 and bonded over a love for Africa, good Thai food and serious accessories.
I thought it would be awesome and important to document Sani’s beautiful spirit and great natural style with some portraits in his new surrounds and knew Chris Phillips would get it right. Thankyou both. X
