PURPLE reign.

This is written as an ode to my first true love.. Prince was what man was to me, deducted from MTV and early mornings watching RAGE, dancing around my bedroom pelvic thrusting… and what a great introduction to man it was! But more than that, Prince pushed boundaries, no he set new standards, with his music, his style and his sexuality and that enabled me to do the same or think I could from a very early age. To own it and game on. So for me baby, purple represents creativity, power and strength in self. Sexuality, ambition and originality are up there too. Thank you.

Let’s face it, purple as a colour has been given a bad rap over the years. But the untimely and devastating news of Prince’s death is going to change all that. Believe you me, purple is the new black.

The colour of imagination and spirituality, free spirited but with high ideals, purple promotes piece of mind. Purple will expand you awareness and connect you to a higher consciousness, it’s association with transformation is second to none and perfect for the seismic shift we’re riding on.

Purple power. Purple is ambitious and self assured. The fact that it contains the combined strength and energy of red and the spirituality and integrity of blue makes for a multi-faceted and multitalented colour, mutant, lover. Purple represents the future and the fantasy world, the daydreamer, the original thinker, the humanitarian. Power to the people, this purple power.

Unconventional and idealistic. Intuitive, psychic even. Purple was the colour of the first dye made by man, called Mauveine and made from coal tar. An innovator from the start you see. Never just one of the crowd, purple was traditionally associated with royalty (hello Prince) and nobility, creating an impression of wealth, luxury and extravagance. A colour of high ideals and creative thinking.

The Crown Chakra, also known as the Sahasrara, is located at the top of the head. It is linked to the crown of the head, the nervous system, and the brain, and is representative of pure thought. This chakra connects one with the infinite consciousness. This chakra is purple. Purple reign. Bless. X
