Berlin based artists Julian Charriere and Julius Von Bismarck have been colour bombing Venice’s least favourite attraction, the pigeons during the current Venice Architecture Biennale, entitled Common Ground. The project “Some pigeons are more equal than others” is their colourful attempt to change people’s perception of pigeons being considered “rats of the sky” – which I must admit is a term I have used on occasion….Spray painted in a specially designed booth, the birds were handled with care and colour so that they might become less offensive and thus more accepted by those visiting the Venetian piazzas. This tropical take on possibly the world’s least favourite feathered fiend (a person or thing that causes mischief or annoyance) has me for one looking at them in a new light and realising that colour can really change the game. Whats your take on this creative colour-creature collaboration? Colour your world.
Schemeenie, I love the idea of this. An interesting analogy and insight x
Love you Sevie. Colour really does change the game. xx
