westwood continues to lead the way with her actions…god she’s good. her latest collection takes her to nairobi and sees her once again partnered with the ITC/ international trade centre in the ethical fashion programme – a partnership concerned with finding solutions for more sustainable fashion – hallelujah! the ethical fashion africa collection has been completely constructed from recycled materials including roadside banners and safari tents – each of the three handbag designs have been handcrafted by communities of women, including single mothers, widows, HIV/AIDS victims and those living in extreme poverty. income earned from the project allows these women to take control of their lives and the possibility to pay for school fees, medical care and other basic needs. westwood’s ethical fashion africa collection has a “holistic approach that is 100% dedicated to supporting disadvantaged communities to improve lives.” need i say more…god save the queen!
