whilst perusing whats new at favourite concept store – darkroom, i came across these magnificent neck pieces by eleanor amoroso. her work has been described as a ‘commemoration of the forgotten art of craftsmanship’ as each piece is laboriously made by hand. eleanor has developed her own unique technique of making garments and accessories from long lengths of fringing and using macrame techniques to develop innovative knits, she has put a modern twist on a primitive craft. in developing these knotting techniques further to create increasingly intricate, elegant and rather dark designs, eleanor the ‘experimental super knitter’ creates modern primitive masterpieces that will have you wanting them. macrame comes up trumps.
