alrighty, it’s a fashion frenzy out there currently with the resort shows and now SS12 menswear happening in milan. the standout show at this point is prada, providing the high fashion kick into fun and fantasy that this season’s menswear most needs. miuccia, miuccia, miuccia – how do you do it? every season and every collection you are able to bring a completely fresh perspective to wearing clothes. it’s enlivening, it’s refreshing and it’s the future of fashion for years to come. miuccia’s collections are almost always inspired by that which she hates most, golf and its association with distastefully dressed men makes its mark in this collection, and in turn has given golf a surreal, studded and street edge like no other could, this is golf gone wild. the SS12 menswear collection just shown in milan will have men everywhere going crazy for golf, upping the fashion ante not only on the streets but on the greens also. the optimistic mix of updated vintage print, rich wool textures, odd colour couplings and echoes of johnny cash were both eccentric and sophisticated. miuccia does one better by topping it all off with sporting accessories that will have any man winning gold in the fashion stakes, those golf bags and brogues are sublime. golf anyone?
